Have you tested your smoke alarms recently?

Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are your first line of defence. If you don’t have them already throughout your home you should install them straight away. For just a few dollars they can really save your families lives!
Replace the batteries in smoke detectors yearly. And remember, even recent hard-wired (ones with a power cable) smoke detectors have backup batteries too that must be replaced. If you have never checked yours, do so. Also check your carbon monoxide detectors as these have batteries and battery backups as well.
There is normally a test button on the alarms you can push every week to make sure they still works.
