Look after your dryer in 4 steps

Avoid damage and improve its efficiency by looking after your dryer.

Lint build up in your dryer exhaust is a fire hazard; clean the exhaust annually.

1. Loosen the clamp and pull the exhaust off the back of the dryer.

2. Remove clumps of lint from the tubing and the hole in the back of the dryer. Use a coat hanger to carefully remove any large clumps that you can’t reach with your hands. Vacuum all the small lint.

3. Reattach the exhaust and the clamps.

4. Make sure to wash your lint screen in the kitchen sink regularly as fabric softener can accumulate and stop air flowing through the screen.
